Product Assembly and Setup
When selling automotive equipment, we have found that most of our customers are mechanically minded and look forward to installing and assembling their new acquisition. Most items we offer can be installed and assembled by two people in a reasonable amount of time. Before you tackle this project, here are some tips that we hope will make your life a little easier:
- Read the manual carefully before starting the installation. The manual should be included with your item, but if you can’t find it, go to the product page on our website and download it for FREE. This manual has been developed and updated over the years and includes all the tricks we’ve learned to make assembling your product as easy as possible.
- Don’t like reading or don’t need the manual? That’s fine, but take a minute to watch the videos we have posted on each product page. We understand that some people have the ability to solve problems on their own, but why not get insider information to spend less time troubleshooting?
- If you haven’t received your item yet, get an idea of what you’ll need to do to transport or unload it. Shop equipment such as tire changers and wheel balancers are easier to handle than car lifts. If you are assembling your car lift, take the time to plan your installation.
- Start by making sure the installation area and surrounding areas are clean and clear, which will allow you to move and handle parts easily.
- Try to get the entire crate close to the installation area without hindering it. Some heavy parts need to be put in place, and the less you have to move them, the better.
- Unpack the packaging and parts and examine them to ensure all parts are present and to get an idea of the nature of each part. You will need them at some point, and if someone is holding a heavy object while you look for a bolt or a hose, it’s going to be a long day!
- If you read the manual, get 2 or 3 steps ahead of your current situation. We have heard countless times that a customer installed their lift 90% of the way only to find that a hose or cable needed to be put in place two steps earlier, and they now had to disassemble the lift to put in a small part and reassemble it.
- Be sure to check the electrical requirements of the product you are purchasing. Some items are 110V or 220V. Others are manufactured so that you can simply plug them in, while others have a “pigtail.” You will therefore need to call an electrician to connect it to your distribution panel or install an outlet.
- If you are setting up a car lift, you will need hydraulic fluid to operate the lift. CAUTION: We do not supply the hydraulic fluid for your lift. Generally, we recommend using AW-32 hydraulic oil for all our lifts (regardless of type). A 5-gallon bucket is usually more than enough and will generally leave you with a little extra.
- When filling your hydraulic fluid for the first time, don’t rush the process. Fill the reservoir 1/3 or 1/2 full, then run the lift up and down. Bleed out the air and kinks, then, with the lift in the lowest position, fill it 2/3 or 3/4 full and run it up and down again. DO NOT fill the reservoir beyond 1/3 or 1/2 when the lift is in the high position, as there will be sludge in the cylinders and other components. We have often heard that a customer filled the reservoir to the brim when the lift was in the high position and, as soon as they started lowering the lift, the reservoir overflowed and spilled all over the workshop. It’s a huge mess to clean up.
- Some hydraulic cylinders may be “air locked” during manufacturing, which prevents the piston from extending when pulled by hand. This does not mean the cylinder is damaged; it is simply

Bought this primarily for double parking in my garage but ended up using it for service work too. The clearance underneath is great and the approach ramps make driving on easy. My wife can even load her car up without issues.
Laura Peterson –
It’s a functional four-post lift at a competitive price. The finish has some rough spots and the hydraulic pump is noisier than I expected. It works, but it’s not as refined as more expensive options.
Heather Rodriguez –
Great build quality and solid performance. The approach ramps could be a little longer for low-clearance vehicles, but otherwise this is an outstanding lift for the price.
Jason Collins –
Compared this to lifts costing twice as much at my buddy’s shop and honestly can’t tell the difference in build quality. Everything about this lift screams durability. The approach ramps, drip trays, and caster kit being included is a nice bonus.
Betty Jackson –
Installed this in my 2-car garage and it transformed my workspace. The runways are wide enough for my full-size truck and the lifting speed is smooth and consistent. Safety locks click in positively. This is professional-grade equipment at a fair price.
Brenda Evans –
The lift itself is fantastic — heavy duty, smooth operation, great safety features. But assembly was a real project. Plan for a full weekend with help. Once it’s up, though, it’s perfect.
Matthew Rogers –
The lift is excellent quality and works great. However, the installation manual is poorly translated and some diagrams are hard to follow. YouTube helped fill in the gaps. Product itself deserves 5 stars.
Donna Anderson –
Really happy with the quality and performance of this lift. Took almost a month to arrive though, which was frustrating. Once installed, it works flawlessly. Would give 5 stars if shipping was faster.
George Watson –
The lift itself seems solid and works well now that it’s assembled. But the installation was a nightmare — poor instructions, some bolt holes didn’t align perfectly, and I had to fabricate a couple of spacers. If you’re handy, you can make it work.
Amanda Jackson –
As a retired mechanic, I know quality when I see it. This lift meets commercial standards in terms of build quality and safety features. The welds are clean, the hardware is grade 8, and the hydraulic system is properly engineered.
Scott Hernandez –
I run a small side business doing maintenance for friends and family. This lift handles everything from sedans to light trucks without breaking a sweat. The powder coat finish still looks new after months of use.
Nicholas Miller –
Overall a very solid four-post lift. Build quality is great and it feels very safe. Only reason for 4 stars is the instructions could be much better — had to figure out a few steps on my own. But the lift itself is excellent.
William Phillips –
This lift completely changed how I work on my vehicles. No more ramps and jack stands. The safety system gives me peace of mind and the whole unit feels overbuilt in the best way possible. Highly recommend.
Jason Rodriguez –
Went from a cluttered single-car garage to a fully functional two-car setup thanks to this lift. Park one car on top, work on another below. The installation guide could be better, but the product itself is outstanding.
Aaron Martin –
I was nervous spending this much on a home garage lift, but this thing is built like a tank. The anti-slip runway surface gives me confidence and the caster kit makes it easy to reposition. Already done three oil changes and a brake job with it.
Carolyn Bennett –
Finally got tired of crawling under my vehicles on a creeper. This lift changed everything. Setup was straightforward following the manual, and the quality of the steel and hardware is impressive. Hydraulic system is smooth and quiet.
Andrew Bennett –
This four-post lift is exactly what my garage needed. Installation took about a weekend with a buddy helping, but the end result is fantastic. Locks engage smoothly at every position and the lift feels incredibly stable. My truck sits up there like it’s on solid ground.
Susan Allen –
Six months in and this lift has been flawless. Use it at least twice a week for various projects. The hydraulic pump is quiet, the locks engage cleanly, and the runways have plenty of length for my extended cab truck.
Jack Nguyen –
After months of research, I pulled the trigger on this lift and couldn’t be happier. The build quality is top-notch — heavy gauge steel, clean welds, and a powder coat that looks like it’ll last. Raised my SUV for the first time and had zero concerns about stability.
